Breast cancer is a tough battle, and recovery after surgery can be challenging. But we can make a difference in the lives of those going through treatment by providing them with a simple yet practical gift: heart-shaped pillows.
These pillows are designed to fit comfortably under the arm and provide several benefits to someone coping with breast cancer treatment. They relieve pain from the surgical incision, protect against accidental bumps, and are great in the car to avoid contact with your seat belt. These pillows are given to patients after surgery to aid in their recuperation.
Not only do these heart pillows offer practical benefits, but they also offer emotional support. They serve as a reminder that the patient is not alone and that others are thinking of their needs. Fun fabric helps to bring a smile to someone’s face during a truly difficult time, and this simple act of kindness can have a big impact on a person’s well-being. This is a great project to use up some of your fabric stash!
We are looking for volunteers to help us sew these heart-shaped pillows for breast cancer patients. VBCF includes them in all of our outgoing Newly Diagnosed Kits, and we need your help.
