The Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (VBCF) is a grassroots organization committed to the eradication of breast cancer through education and advocacy.

VBCF is the only grassroots organization in Virginia devoted solely to representing the needs of women and family members affected by breast cancer.

VBCF is comprised of individuals diagnosed with breast cancer, family members, friends, healthcare professionals and others.

The VBCF goals are to establish the eradication of breast cancer as a state and national priority, to advocate for the collective needs of people affected by breast cancer and to educate all Virginians on the truth about breast cancer. Educate. Advocate. Eradicate.

a FREE conference on survivorship issues

October 11, 2008 10 am - 2 pm Virginia Beach, VA
This conference is designed to educate breast cancer survivors on specific issues they may be facing. The conference will feature Musa Mayer, a nationally known author, advocate and survivor. This program is being presented in conjunction with Sentara Healthcare. Click here for more information.

2nd Annual Victory Walk

The Hampton Roads Chapter of the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation presents the 2nd Annual Victory Walk on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Umoja Festival in Portsmouth,VA. This 2 mile walk will begin at Ntelos Pavilion and wind along the waterfront.

The walk begins at 9 a.m. Pre-register by September 13 to receive a free t-shirt.

Financial Sponsorship Available for Educational Conferences & Events

The Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (VBCF) is now accepting financial sponsorship applications for educational conferences and events. As part of our sponsorship program, VBCF will pay for 2/3 the cost of hotel and transportation for all approved VBCF members.

Education is a vital part of our mission. VBCF invites members to take advantage of the financial sponsorship program and attend a conference or event this year. VBCF benefits from having educated, informed members like you!

The Lesbian Outreach Project now has free resources available for distribution. The project has brochures on lesbians and breast cancer/health, along with a Lesbian Health Resource Guide, which features a list of lesbian friendly healthcare providers in Central Virginia.
